Leaside Regeneration Ltd and its partners are proud to launch
the marketing of Old Poplar Library.
The restoration and conversion of this fine Grade 11 Listed
Building will be one of the centrepieces in the regeneration
of the Leaside area.
A number of key organisations - highlighted below - have
collaborated in planning and implementing this major project:
The
Heritage of London Trust Operations Ltd (HOLTOP) who
commissioned the works and whose job it is to take
vulnerable listed buildings like the Library off the
English Heritage "At Risk" register;

European Union, through the Government Office for
London, has contributed a grant of £500,000.
Without this the project would simply not have been
viable;

Heritage themselves who provided a grant of £50,000
and who have consistently supported the project;

London Borough of Tower Hamlets, the owners of the
Library, who agreed to dispose of a long lease for
a peppercorn to enable the project to proceed;

capital to enable HOLTOP to commission the works;

Ltd, provided a grant of £100,000 for the improvement

feature of the entrance hall and part of the ground
floor accommodation; and
